Betway gets highest weekend coverage during #SGWeek2020

Betway has had a successful week after hosting its most powerful and most effective “Safer Gambling Week” (#SGWeek2020) which pushed the cross-industry initiative’s responsible gambling messages across its entire sponsorship portfolio. Working alongside its principal partners of West Ham United and racing’s All-Weather Championship, Betway made sure that #SGWeek2020, which lasted from November 19 to 25, got the most coverage amongst UK sports fans.

The #SGWeek2020 branding was displayed on the training kits of West Ham players during their game at Sheffield United on Sunday. The match was broadcasted on the Sky Sports Premier League channel. Securing maximum exposure to football fans, a major target demographic for #SGWeek2020, Betway added safer gambling messages on West Ham’s app and club website. Furthermore, the bookmaker leveraged its adequate racing sponsorship roster in order to promote #SGWeek2020, renaming nine sponsored races to ‘Betway supporting Safer Gambling Week’ during the entirety of the campaign. The total making them the biggest contributor of race titles to the cause for the fourth year running.

Betway CEO Anthony Werkman said: “Safety when gambling is paramount all year round, we are committed to ensuring the industry, and the consumers are at the heart of the conversation. As an annual contributor, we have been delighted to support the Safer Gambling Week campaign over the last few days.”
