DraftKings president Matt Kalish to leave role in 2026

DraftKings co-founder and president Matt Kalish will leave his executive role on March 31, 2026, but will remain on the company’s board of directors.

Kalish’s exit will become the first major leadership change for DraftKings since its foundation in 2012. The decision was made earlier this month as the Boston-based online betting company begins a new strategic phase focused on expanding into prediction markets.

DraftKings CEO Jason Robins stated:

“Matt Kalish has been my partner, along with Paul Liberman, in building DraftKings from day one. Matt’s impact on DraftKings and on all of us has been tremendous. I’m grateful he’ll stay with us through the end of March and continue to serve on our Board of Directors following the transition. His guidance and insights will remain a valuable part of DraftKings as we grow further and innovate for the future.”

Kalish’s exit comes after DraftKings reached a $10 million settlement related to its Reignmakers NFT product earlier this year. It also comes at a time when the company is signing new media deals and investing in new types of gaming products.

DraftKings Predict

In this period, DraftKings is getting ready to launch “DraftKings Predict,” a new platform focused on prediction markets. This follows the company’s $48.6 million purchase of Railbird Technologies, a federally licensed exchange regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The deal could be worth up to $200 million, depending on future performance.
