Online gambling in Buenos Aires has gone live
Buenos Aires residents may now partake in online gambling, thanks to the distribution of goods by numerous operators following the receipt of licenses earlier this year.
Among the operators who have released their products is Bplay. The company will be offering their online casino, which is currently available on their website. The company is a joint venture between 888 and B-Gaming, owned by the Boldt Group, which operates two casinos in Argentina.
Next up is Codere Online, offering sports betting and casino services via its website. Codere Online, a former Codere brand that split earlier this year, debuted on Nasdaq this month. This was when the company joined with DD3 Acquisition Corp II, a special-purpose acquisition firm.
Moshee Edree, Codere Online’s managing director, commented:
“Beginning operations in the City of Buenos Aires constitutes a crucial step in our business strategy.”
Aside from these two companies, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) is driving Grupo Slots‘ online casino and sportsbook debut, which can be found at their website. Following an agreement reached between GiG and Grupo Slots in August of last year, the two firms got authorization for the launch mentioned above in March of this year.
Richard Brown, GiG’s CEO, stated:
“I am thrilled to have increased significantly with such a well-known company as Grupo Slots in the city of Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires is a booming market primed to become one of Argentina’s greatest, with tremendous development prospects in the dynamic sector led by law and the rise of digital online gaming adoption.”
Back in February 2020, Lotería de la Ciudad (LOTBA), the gambling authority in Buenos Aires, published licensing requirements for online gaming licenses. Currently, gaming regulation in Argentina is made on a state-by-state basis. Cordoba, an Argentine province, is the most recent to propose legislation allowing online gambling in the region.
