Barni Evans named as CEO of Flutter APAC & Emerging Markets
Flutter Entertainment has confirmed the appointment of Barni Evans as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Flutter APAC & Emerging Markets, with Evans taking up the role on June 1, 2026.
Before the appointment, Evans served as the CEO of Flutter-owned Sportsbet, with the company now having announced Doug Brown as his replacement. During his 11 years at the company, Brown held roles such as chief operating officer, chief product officer, and chief growth officer.
In the new role, Evans will be responsible for managing Flutter’s Asia-Pacific betting operations and other emerging regions.
Evans commented:
“It’s been a huge privilege to be part of Sportsbet’s story. I’m incredibly proud of the business we’ve built and the team behind it. Doug is the right person to lead the next phase as CEO. He knows the business inside out and has played a major role in getting us to where we are today. I look forward to remaining closely connected to the business while taking on this broader role across APAC and Emerging Markets.”
Evans has been the head of Sportsbet since 2018, helping the operator improve its position in the Australian market. His new position shows that Flutter is now focusing on regional leadership and paying closer attention to its strategy of growing in multiple markets.
