Brazil looking for a president of Bets and Prizes Secretariat
Brazil is attempting to launch a new sports betting system, but they need to name a head of the department in charge of this.
The person in this role will oversee 38 specialists who work as a team to monitor the sports betting industry.
To keep an eye on and document gaming-related activity, the government intended to establish a Special Secretariat. In order to control sports betting, internet gaming, lotteries, and commercial promotions, this Secretariat will operate under the Ministry of Finance.
Despite the president’s approval, Congress lawmakers are upset that the Ministry of Finance has not yet released the definitive timeline for the sports betting system’s activation.
José Francisco Manssur was initially supposed to lead this department, but he submitted his resignation last month. Senator Rogério Carvalho is a fresh contender who has put himself up for the role. Marcos Barbosa Pinto, a government advisor, is more likely to be selected in its place.
