Caesars Virginia’s late opening boosts gaming offerings
The Caesars Virginia casino project remains on track to be opened later this year.
The casino remains under construction, with an investment of $750 million. The employment target that was initially promised to suggest 1300 job offerings has been revised to 900-1300.
Ray Dunkle, director of gaming operations for the Virginia Lottery, shared the following update:
“The permanent casino, the construction there is moving great. If we would go and stand in that same place right now, it would be a different look for sure.”
As a result of the late opening, Caesars is expanding its temporary casino in Danville, adding more games to its current offerings. 50 new games and 16 scheduled projects, including 224 games and eight tables have been approved for players.
This year’s total tax revenue for Virginia’s three casinos, including Danville, is nearly $123.76 million. This is more than 46 million from the total revenue of 2023.
