Danish gambling authority rebukes Unibet

The Danish regulator rebuked Unibet and ordered it to improve its risk management after finding some issues regarding AML security.

Operating Kindred’s Danish business, Unibet is said to have conducted some breaches referring to AML duties. The breaches cover violation of KYC standards and other business processes, apart from misconducting its duties of inquisition and report.

DGA claims that Unibet did not have reports on business procedures covering the current monitoring of client relations. It also did not provide its assessment evidence relating to suspecting AML issues.

Another rebuke Unibet received for the lack of business processes for managing politically exposed people and their relatives. The lack of KYC actions for 5 out of twenty high-roller users was another reason for a reprimand.

As the regulator mentions, Unibet also permitted a young user to deposit over $152,708 without finding out where he had gained the money from.

Kindred Group states, Unibet has improved its AML standards and will appear with an improved risk management.

“Kindred Group strives for delivering high-class services and AML security. We closely collaborate with DGA to amplify our control system”

mentioned Kindred Group.

Unibet is given a 2-month deadline to improve its risk management.
