DraftKings forms a new partnership with Delta Air Lines

DraftKings and Delta Air Lines have announced their partnership, aimed at providing interactive gaming experiences for passengers during flights.

This new partnership will let passengers play fun, interactive games and sports contests on their personal devices. These games are free and focus on skill and sports simulations, not real-money betting, so they follow the rules that prevent gambling on planes.

Delta and DraftKings are watching closely for potential changes in regulations that might allow in-flight wagering. Some states, like Connecticut, are considering laws that would allow sports betting on flights starting or landing in the state.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian, speaking at CES, said:

“We know they want an in-flight experience similar to what they have at home, including more ways to engage and stay entertained — which is why we’re excited to continue scaling Delta Sync products and bring even more to the experience soon, including expected collaborations with brands like YouTube and DraftKings.”

For now, Delta and DraftKings are focused on providing a fun gaming experience, with access limited to SkyMiles members aged 21 and over. Together with DraftKings, Delta is also partnering with YouTube to offer even more entertainment options for travelers.
