DraftKings to launch sportsbook and online casino in Alberta
DraftKings has announced that it is planning to enter Alberta’s regulated iGaming market by launching online casino and sportsbook products in the province in July 2026.
After Ontario, Alberta will become the second Canadian province where the operator offers sports betting and online casino services, as Alberta’s regulated iGaming market is set to open on July 13, 2026.
The executive vice president and general manager of sports at DraftKings, Greg Karamitis, commented:
“We’re excited about the opportunity to expand DraftKings’ footprint in Canada and bring our online sportsbook and casino experiences to customers in Alberta. With the anticipated launch aligning with the World Cup, hosted right here in North America, it’s a particularly exciting moment for sports fans in the province to engage with our platform.”
The planned launch will mark the operator’s seventh active online casino jurisdiction in North America and DraftKings’ 34th jurisdiction for sports betting in the region.
DraftKings is now awaiting regulatory approval and license-granting from the Canadian province.
Additionally, Caesars Entertainment has opened pre-registration in Alberta as well, after iGaming Alberta announced the scheduled rollout of the regulated iGaming market back in January 2026.
