Entain publishes betting insights on Frankie Dettori
Entain has found that UK bettors have shown immense support for Frankie Dettori.
Throughout the latest running of the Royal Ascot thoroughbred racing event, Entain has found that horses ridden by the legendary jockey, who will be retiring from the sport this year, were more popular with bettors. This phenomenon has been named the “Frankie Factor”, demonstrating Dettori’s popularity among horse racing fans.
Over the course of the event, a total of 11% of single wagers were taken by Dettori, while he also featured in more than 38% of multiple wagers. On the first race day, the jockey’s horse, Inspiral, demonstrated the phenomenon clearly by taking 23% of single wagers, despite the race being unfavorable for Dettori.
On the second day of the racing event, the jockey was featured in almost 40% of multiple wagers riding Gregory, with which Dettori won his first race during this year’s running of the Royal Ascot. On the third day, the jockey rode to victory with Courage Mon Ami, making up for 12% of all wagers.
A couple of weeks ago, Entain announced that it will be acquiring STS Holdings for three-quarters of a billion pounds, making it one of the firm’s largest recent purchases. Learn more about the acquisition here.
