Gibraltar grants Predict Street a prediction market license
Nigel Feetham, the Justice Minister of Gibraltar, has announced that the territory has issued the first-ever license to a prediction market operator, and although Feetham didn’t mention the exact name, the government’s list of approved operators has since been updated to include Predict Street.
Gibraltar’s gambling license register began showing Predict Street Ltd as a licensed betting intermediary on March 26, 2026. Predict Street is a crypto prediction platform supported by Abu Dhabi-based blockchain project ADI Chain, as it claims on its website to be the official prediction market partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Justice Minister Feetham commented:
“We expect this to be a substantial area of growth for Gibraltar. A new license has been issued, notwithstanding that the new Gambling Act had not yet been brought into force, and the new license had to be issued under the previous legislation. This represents record timing for the issuing of a regulatory license in Gibraltar.”
During a speech in parliament, Feetham stated that the decision shows Gibraltar’s ability to adapt fast, especially after the gambling tax rises in the UK were threatening to hit the territory’s gaming sector, as Gibraltar mostly serves the UK market. The hikes in Remote Gaming Duty are expected to increase the tax rate for Gibraltar’s operators to 80-100%.
