Industry Forum Chair of UKGC, Nick Rust, to Step Down from His Position
Nick Rust, Chair of the UK Gambling Commission’s (UKGC) Industry Forum, will serve the rest of his term, but will not apply for renewal, resigning in November.
According to UKGC, Rust has played a key role in the creation and development of the Industry Forum, working closely with the commission to make sure that the voices and expertise of industry stakeholders are heard.
The Industry Forum was created to provide insights to the UKGC about the gambling industry’s opinions on the regulator’s plans, the quality of regulation, and the further the gaming sector.
Nick Rust commented on his departure:
“I’m pleased with the work the Forum has delivered and believe it has helped the Commission better understand the implications of its existing and planned policies for consumers and industry operators.”
Rust thanked his fellow Forum members and the UKGC for their support. He further noted that he remains interested in following the Industry Forum’s developments and seeing where it goes.
Helen Child, the UKGC’s Head of Governance, thanked Rust for his contributions:
“I have very much enjoyed working with him as we established the Forum, and I would like to thank Nick for his hard work in getting the group to this point. We wish him well for the future.”
Rust mentioned that he was glad to have had the opportunity to chair the Industry Forum and support the UKGC in learning more about the industry’s feelings on policy and operational performance.

“Nick has been such a valuable sounding board, a constant fount of knowledge and insight, and a great support to me personally.”
UKGC stated that eventually, there will be a new chair of the Forum and promised to share more news in the future.
