Kalshi sends cease-and-desist order to Elizabeth Booker
Kalshi has sent Democratic influencer Elizabeth Booker a cease-and-desist order after Booker posted a video criticizing prediction markets.
Elizabeth Booker, who is better known online as ‘bookersquared ‘, is a Washington-based political commentator, lawyer, and public health professional. On April 7, 2026, she posted a video where she mentioned prediction markets in a negative light.
Booker said:
“I want to talk about prediction markets because I don’t think people understand that people are betting on real-world tragedies. And there’s a real possibility that our government is more compromised than everybody realizes. So if you don’t know what Polymarket or Kalshi are, they are prediction markets where you can bet on pretty much any damn thing.”
As first reported by Gambling Insider, prediction market operator Kalshi sent a cease-and-desist order, demanding Booker stop publishing any further “false or misleading statements” about the operator. In case of non-compliance, Kalshi stated that it will seek injunctive relief, damages, or any other available measures.
Booker has since complied with the cease-and-desist orders.
Booker further commented on the issue:
“I briefly mentioned Kalshi in a video as an example of a prediction market. The entire video centered on their rival, Polymarket, and how awful it is. Kalshi sent me a cease and desist, demanding that I clarify what Kalshi does and only provide factual information. So I complied and made a follow-up video detailing the lawsuits, controversies, and criminal charges that Kalshi faces as well as its close ties to Trump.”
No further developments have happened after Booker’s response; however, it’s unclear whether the dispute is fully resolved.
