The company is also adding an alert for new traders with a balance above $1,000 who put more than 25% of it into a single trade, suggesting they spread their positions. Both features are expected to roll out over the coming days.
Luana Lopes Lara, Co-Founder and COO of Kalshi, said:
“Like the stock exchange, Kalshi is available only to traders 18 and older. Still, we know that young adults are often new to markets and may need more education and safeguards, so we are expanding our protections for this group of users.”
Existing measures for this age group include tools to limit time and spending after their first trade, confidential mental health support through Birches Health, and Inner Circle, which sends parents real-time alerts on how often and how much their 18- to 20-year-olds trade. Kalshi uses KYC checks to reject anyone under 18 and now features an ID Check tool on its homepage so adults can confirm their identity is not being misused.
Kalshi has also partnered with Parent ProTech and ConnectSafely to publish Parents’ Guides to Prediction Markets.
