Lithuania hits gambling revenue for €116m in H1
According to the Lithuania Gaming Control Authority, compared to land-based activity, online gambling increased the H1 gambling revenue in Lithuania by 12.6%, equal to €116m.
Lithuania’s gaming market grew greatly, with total revenue surpassing €108.5 million compared to last year.
The online gaming sector was the star performer. Among category A, which has online slots with unlimited winnings, notable high earners were producing €53.5 million in revenues leading on all fronts in online and land-based gambling systems.
In contrast, there was a 4.4% fall in revenue among category B. Despite the revenue falling by 6.5$ to €14.4 million, Category B slot machines were still popular.
Sports betting revenue also decreased by 6.4%, coming in at €4.4 million.
The Lithuania Gaming Control Authority published reports on lotteries as well. During the H1, gross gaming revenue from lotteries amounted to €32.7m, a rise of 6.2%.
Gambling activity brought 37.6 million in tax revenue, with €24.1 million from gambling operators and €13.5 million from lottery providers.
