MGM Resorts adds new on-site COVID-19 testing facility
MGM Resorts has announced the addition of its brand new COVID-19 testing site to its health programme which was created to make the holding of meetings easier and less strenuous.
The testing will be part of the hospitality giant’s Convene with Confidence programme which concerns safety precautions when it comes to hosting in-person events and meetings. MGM has stated that the plan has already benefited it to host over 300 meetings ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Bill Hornbuckle, president and CEO of MGM Resorts, stated:
“Convene with Confidence is a result of close consultation with health experts and our increased focus on leveraging innovation to not only provide a better guest experience – but a safer one as well. MGM Resorts has long been at the forefront of the rapidly evolving hospitality and events industries. We are confident we’ve built a program that enables companies to meet in person, giving them peace of mind as they do so.”
MGM Resorts chief sales officer and senior vice president, Stephanie Glanzer, further explained:
“Meetings and conventions are critical to our company and to Las Vegas, in addition to the organizations putting on these programs. Developing Convene with Confidence, a completely customizable program, with multiple options for planners and attendees, reflects our deep commitment to the future health of the meetings industry.”
Moreover, MGM Resorts is now seeking to bounce back from the detrimental effects of the pandemic, after it witnessed a massive decrease in revenue throughout 2020. It ended up losing over $1 billion and its revenue dropped down to $5.16 billion (approximately 60%).
