Nevada Gaming Control Board appoints new Chairman

Professional gaming executive Mike Dreitzer has been appointed the next Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Dreitzer isn’t a newcomer in the gambling world. He has worked at companies like Ainsworth and BMM Americas and, earlier in his career, served as a deputy attorney general advising both the Gaming Control Board and the Gaming Commission.

Currently, Dreitzer is leading Gaming Arts, a Las Vegas-based gaming tech company, and will take over Nevada’s Gaming Control Board at the end of June when current chairman Kirk Hendrick retires.

Dreitzer shared his excitement in a press release:

“I’m grateful to Governor Lombardo for his confidence in me. I look forward to furthering the essential mission of the Board while supporting its agents and staff to ensure the highest quality gaming regulation for our state.”

Kirk Hendrick commented:

“Handing over the gavel to Chairman Mike Dreitzer will be a smooth transition. Mike and I have known each other for almost 30 years, going back to our days in the Attorney General’s Office.”

Dreitzer will serve out the remaining 18 months of Hendrick’s term and is set to officially start after the May board meeting.
