PAGCOR postpones new gambling fee payments to June
On March 30, 2026, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) announced that its new payment structure for gambling fees will be postponed from April 2026 to June 2026 because of the critical situation in the country.
The changes in minimum guaranteed fees (MGFs) were first announced in December 2025, proposing that from April 2026 to September 2026, all licensed gaming system administrators (GSAs) would pay $149,000 based on an assumed GGR of $496,000. Starting in October 2026, the rate was supposed to increase to $173,000, while the monthly rate for GSAs that don’t offer e-games was set to rise to $66,000.
The decision to delay the new payment structure came as a result of the oil shortage caused by the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr of the Philippines revealed that the country has only a 45-day reserve of oil.
It has now been decided that the first phase of the MGFs will come into effect from June 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, while the second one will apply from January 1, 2027.
PAGCOR’s head of the offshore gaming license department, Jessa Mariz Fernandez, stated the changes would fill the gap in the current fee structure and improve fairness, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.
