PAGCOR reports 49% rise in income, reaching $243M

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has announced a huge increase of 49% in net income for the first three quarters of 2025, amounting in $243 million.

The increase is very substantial compared to the $164 million earned in the same period of the previous year. The profit of the company has increased much faster than the total revenue, which has only increased by 5.9%, indicating better cost control and efficient working.

PAGCOR’s total revenue for the period January to September was $1.43 billion, compared to the previous year’s $1.35 billion. The major share once again came from gaming, which contributed $1.29 billion, while other services and additional income were $139 million.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco said in a statement:

“Our financial performance is a clear reflection of PAGCOR’s renewed focus on governance, digital transformation, as well as sustainable and responsible gaming.”

PAGCOR raised its total nation-building contributions by 11% to $922 million, up from $832 million last year. Around two-thirds of that ($613 million) went to the National Government, as required by law. This portion, which equals half of PAGCOR’s gaming income minus a 5% franchise tax, helps fund programs run by PhilHealth, the Dangerous Drugs Board, and other national agencies.

The regulator also paid $64 million in franchise taxes and $10 million in corporate income tax to the Bureau of Internal Revenue. Another $187 million went to community and social projects, including the President’s Social Fund.

The Philippine Sports Commission received $31 million, an 8.7% increase, while athletes and coaches who won abroad got $451,000 in bonuses. Other recipients included the Board of Claims ($2.4 million), the Renewable Energy Trust Fund ($3.4 million), and cities hosting Casino Filipino branches, which were given $8.6 million in revenue shares.
