Parimatch denies reports on the cease of Chelsea partnership

Parimatch refuses the reports about the cease of collaboration with Chelsea. Yet, it limits its marketing operations with the club with the aim to concentrate on the support of Ukraine.

Media reports claim that the company ceases its contract with the football club. The rumors were based on the fact that the owner of the club is Roman Abramovich who is considered to have links with the President of Russia.

The UK and Europe have issued several sanctions on Abramovich. The UK froze its businesses, among which is Chelsea.

Parimatch, in its turn, raised objections against the war and undertook initiatives and donations in support of Ukrainians. Yet, it mentions that continuing its collaboration with Chelsea, it limits its marketing operations for more focus on Ukrainians’ support.

The collaboration between Parimatch and Chelsea started last year.

Parimatch issued a statement:

“Media reports on the cease of our collaboration with Chelsea are not true. However, we scale back marketing operations with the club to concentrate on the support for Ukraine. Now we undertake campaigns to raise awareness of the war”.

Parimatch is an Ukraine-based company founded in 1994. It has donated $2.0mln for the help of the people impacted by the war. Recently, in response to the war, it has withdrawn its franchise from Russia.
