RWA to donate AU$3m for financial counseling

Responsible Wagering Australia has recently announced that its members will be donating a combined 3 million dollars for financial counseling support.

The Australian industry organization has entered a partnership with the country’s government, along with several local sectors including insurance and banking, to establish a charitable organization that will be providing financial counseling assistance around the country starting next year.

The organization stated that financial counseling is an important tool in helping those experiencing financial hardship manage their debts and make vital steps toward freedom in terms of their financial futures. This will be building upon the RWA’s consumer protection efforts that exist solely in the online gambling sector and include solutions like compulsory user verification, deposit limits, and more.

The total funding of 3 million Australian dollars will be provided by six of the gambling organization’s member firms, which include Entain, Bet365, PointsBet, and other major operators. The firms will be providing the combined contribution over the course of three years, helping the yet-to-be-established non-profit organization provide financial counseling support to Australians over the coming few years.
