The 2023 edition of SBEA+ has recently commenced.

The attendees of the esteemed conference gathered in the capital of Uganda, which became an innovation hub for the gambling industry of the East African region with the start of the event. Highlighting the sector’s cutting-edge ideas and providing professionals with a platform to grow locally, the conference aims to accelerate the expansion of East Africa’s gambling sector.

Its latest edition started with an opening speech by the conference’s Chair, Thomas Buckley Opar Owuor, who welcomed the attendees to the event and to the vibrant local gambling industry, setting SBEA+ 2023 off on an exciting note. The summit’s panels commenced shortly after, with a keynote by the acting CEO of Uganda’s gambling regulator, Denis Mudene, being the first one of the day.

The conference’s first discussion came next, which covered the differences between the gambling markets of Africa and Europe. The panel featured highly esteemed professionals, such as Genius Gaming Consult’s Najib Balinda, STM Gaming’s Alessandro Pizzolotto, and TVBET’s Emily Asava, who shared their invaluable insights with the event’s participants.

The summit featured many other discussions throughout its first day as well, the panelists of which covered many insightful and important topics, such as responsible gambling, key ways to succeed with affiliate marketing, and innovative strategies to grow in the East African gambling scene.

In between the conference’s main discussion panels, attendees were able to take advantage of a plethora of networking opportunities, which included dedicated networking breaks, along with visits to the event’s exhibition area, where some of the industry’s top companies were showcasing their offerings to interested professionals.
