Spelinspektionen extends tenure of Camilla Rosenberg

The Spelinspektionen’s Director General, Camilla Rosenberg, will be working with the regulator till Q4 2026.

The Swedish government has recently announced the extension of its Director General’s term, who will stay with the regulator till the end of October in 2026. Camilla Rosenberg has been with the Spelinsketionen since 2017, before the regulator’s name change and the market’s re-regulation process that took place in 2019, making her projected tenure almost a decade-long.

Alongside this news, the gambling regulator has also published an announcement aimed at locally licensed gambling firms, urging them to apply for their license renewals at least four months in advance to avoid having to temporarily suspend their operations in the country.

Moreover, the regulator also mentioned a list of other amendments to the license application process, such as the addition of new fees starting on the 1st of June and the requirement for applicants to declare the use of processes intended to ensure that all software to be used throughout the license period is developed and incorporated by a licensed provider.

The regulator recently underwent several enhancements starting with its funding increase back in April, which have added a lot of new abilities to help it counter unauthorized gambling in Sweden.
