Star Entertainment reveals CFO and COO departures

On December 29, 2025, Star Entertainment Group announced leadership changes, with CFO Frank Krile and COO Jeannie Mok stepping down from their positions in January 2026.

Star Group noted it would now begin a formal process to identify a new CFO.

The executive changes come as part of a broader restructuring, as the company faces financial difficulties and regulatory scrutiny.

Additionally, the company recently saw Bruce Mathieson Jr replace Steve McCann as CEO, and Soo Kim, chair of Bally’s, was appointed as chairman of Star Group.

The Mathieson family and Bally’s now hold 23% and 38% of Star Group, respectively, as both had a big role in financing the rescue package for the company.

Mathieson thanked the departing executives for their role in navigating the company through a turbulent time and noted their involvement in the remediation process of the Star.

The group still remains under oversight based on previous inquiries into governance failures and compliance violations.

The newly appointed executives and shareholders are addressing the company’s debt pressures and reputational damage in order to rebuild trust with regulators.

The coming months are expected to be very important in showing real progress for the restructuring strategy.
