Svenska Spel reports steady revenue in 2023
Svenska Spel’s latest annual report covers the company’s performance throughout the past year.
The first of the new report’s key figures was a net revenue of 8.03 billion kronor, which was down slightly from the preceding year’s revenue of 8.04 billion kronor. This led to a slightly larger decline of 2% in Svenska Spel’s operating profit, which went from 2.39 billion kronor in 2022 to 2.33 billion kronor in the following year. The company also experienced a small decline in its operating margins, which went from 30% to 29%.
The operator’s performance in the last quarter of the year included decreases as well, with the firm generating 2.12 billion kronor in the three-month period, down 3% from Svenska Spel’s 2.19 billion kronor revenue in Q4 of last year. The company’s operating profit in the quarter, however, experienced the largest decline at 16%, going from last year’s 580 million kronor to 485 million kronor.
Svenska Spel mentioned in its report that it was able to maintain these stable figures despite the Swedish gambling market experiencing no growth and the company’s land-based establishments facing various operational challenges throughout the year. As a further testament to the firm’s stability, Svenska Spel has proposed a dividend of 1.9 billion kronor for its investors.
