UKGC published the recent UK gambling data
The UK Gambling Commission published the most recent gambling data in the UK.
The data from the operators, covers the period from March 2020 to June 2024, both online and in-person gambling activities of licensed betting operators on Britain’s high streets.
This data should not be compared directly with the industry’s statistics data. One of the reasons is that it can include free bets and bonuses but excludes data from all operators.
Q1 online total GGY was £1.46 billion, 12% higher year-on-year than the same period last year. The number of bets and spins increased 11% in the same period to a new record high of 24.5bn for the second successive quarter, with the average number of monthly active accounts growing 9% in the same period.
Betting GGY on real events increased by 16% to £625 million; the number of bets was down by 7%. The average number of monthly active accounts in Q1 increased by 11%, most likely due to such sporting events as UEFA Euro 2024.
Slots GGY was up 10 percent to £642 million. The number of spins increased by 12 percent to 22.4 billion, while the average monthly active accounts in Q1 were up 11 percent to 4.4 million per month, setting new peaks for GGY, spins, and average monthly active accounts in the slots vertical within this data.
