The suspension affects Targetlocal Ltd, the business behind Ken Howell’s Sports Betting, which offers casino games, sports betting, and virtual event betting online. The Commission opened enquiries into the operator that revealed AML concerns, leading to the suspension and a wider review of the license under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005. Additionally, Ken Howell’s non-remote general betting standard license, covering its physical betting operations, is not affected by the suspension.
The Gambling Commission shared:
“It has been made clear to the operator that during the course of the suspension it is expected to treat consumers fairly and keep them fully informed of any developments which impact them. The suspension, which takes place immediately, does not prevent Targetlocal Ltd from allowing consumers to access their accounts and withdraw funds. The suspension will stay in place until the Commission is satisfied that the operator has fixed its compliance issues, with the enforcement action coming just one year after the launch of Ken Howell’s EveryMatrix-powered online betting and gaming product.
