Zynga buys StarLark in a 525-million-dollar deal
Leading American social game developer – Zynga, has completed the buyout of the StarLark game development brand from Betta Games, in a 525-million-dollar deal.
The agreement will see the Betta Games-owned StarLark, based in China and famous for its Golf Rival game, be completely acquired by Zynga – a leading game developer in America.
StarLark’s China-based staff will be joining the team at Zynga shortly, however, the brand will continue being led by the founder and GM – Henry You, together with the former managing board.
Zynga’s CEO – Frank Gibeau, welcomed StarLark’s team on board and commented on the acquisition deal:
“We are very happy to have the incredibly talented and accomplished team at StarLark join our board here at Zynga.”
Via adding the brand’s number one hit game – Golf Rival, to their portfolio of gaming content, Zynga is entering a new set of possibilities by not only expanding their game offering with such a prominent game, but also positioning themselves in the prosperous Chinese iGaming market.
StarLark’s GM and founder – Henry You, also added a statement about the integration:

By teaming up with Zynga, we gain access to their large set of international resources and rich experience, while we continue making new and thrilling games for our fans.
