1xCare debuts as responsible gambling initiative
1xCare has announced its launch as a dedicated initiative focused on player protection, responsible gambling, and harm prevention across the global gambling ecosystem.
Founded by the owner of the global 1xBet trademark, 1xCare was created to unite research, education, technology, and player well-being within a single responsible gambling initiative. The organization focuses on improving player protection through research, education, technological innovation, and collaboration with industry stakeholders.
Looking ahead, 1xCare aims to become a recognized hub for responsible gambling excellence, helping raise standards and promote safer gambling practices across the global industry.
Simon Westbury, Chairperson, said:
“Responsible gambling is not a slogan; it is a duty. 1xCare was created to support a more informed, transparent, and sustainable gambling ecosystem — one where player protection and well-being are central.“
Four core pillars
1xCare’s work is structured around four pillars:
- Research Hub: Funds and supports research into gambling behavior, addiction risks, and emerging technologies, while sharing findings through transparent public reporting.
- EduCare: Raises awareness of responsible gambling by developing educational initiatives and promoting ethical standards across operators, sports organizations, and local communities.
- TechShield: Develops and supports technologies that help identify risky gambling behaviour early and create safer experiences for players.
- Support & Well-Being: Expands access to counseling, helplines, and other support services by working with qualified organizations and providing grants to strengthen player care.
Westbury added:

1xCare operates with dedicated governance structures, including an Advisory Committee, and is committed to publishing regular impact updates. The funded initiatives aim to foster collaboration with regulators, researchers, and civil society.
