AGCO Board Chair Lalit Aggrawal resigns
The Chair of AGCO’s Board, Lalit Aggrawal, will be stepping down from his position at the regulator.
Aggrawal first took on the responsibilities of the Chair of AGCO’s Board back in 2019, since which he has been an excellent leader for the regulatory authority’s management team. He established and enhanced numerous of the regulator’s enforcement procedures and guidelines, including the introduction of several sub-committees.
The outgoing Chair played a sizable role in the development of one of Canada’s first regulated gambling markets by overseeing the development of Ontario’s regulation framework for local gambling operators.
Aggrawal also had an important role in helping the industries overseen by AGCO throughout the challenging times of the pandemic. He was responsible for overseeing numerous initiatives throughout the past few years that helped lessen the negative effects of the pandemic.
Following his recent resignation announcement, the regulatory authority has appointed the Vice Chair of its Board, Heidi Reinhart, as its Interim Chair. Having joined the organization back in 2020 and being appointed as its Vice Chair a year later, Reinhart will be taking over the responsibilities of the outgoing Chair as AGCO searches for Aggrawal’s permanent replacement.
