AiGC names Dan Keene as permanent CEO
The Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) has appointed Dan Keene as its permanent chief executive officer (CEO), according to a press release issued on May 19.
The press release states that Keene took up the permanent CEO role on April 21, 2026, with the appointment coming at an important time for the AiGC, as the province is just two months away from launching its regulated market.
Previously, Keene had held the role of vice president at the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) since 2022, managing all 30 retail casinos, online gaming, loyalty programs, and compliance. During this time, he contributed to the creation of Alberta’s first casino loyalty program, Winner’s Edge, and supervised the only licensed gambling website in the province, PlayAlberta.ca.
AiGC board chair Sanjeev Kad commented:
“Dan brings deep operational experience and a strong track record in gaming and market development. His leadership will be essential as the Alberta iGaming Corporation prepares for launch and delivers a regulated market built on social responsibility and player protection.”
Prior to that, Keene worked at Molson Breweries and Century Casinos.
Regarding Alberta’s iGaming market launch, the AiGC is set to be responsible for signing commercial agreements with operators and managing daily operations, with 28 operators already approved to enter the market. These include DraftKings, FanDuel, and PointsBet Canada.
