Bally’s donates $5m to RI Community College
Bally’s has recently announced a donation of 5 million dollars to the Community College of Rhode Island.
This donation is going to be a part of a long-term collaboration between the operator and the college, as part of which the two parties will be providing students of the CCRI with opportunities to learn about and establish a career in the gambling and hospitality sector in the United States.
The donation, which is the largest one of its kind in the history of the CCRI, will establish the college as the only institution in the state of Rhode Island to offer students programs focused on the gambling industry. The college will also be one of the very few institutions in the states of New England to offer such certifications for its students.
The new programs that will be introduced as part of the collaboration will include a variety of learning forms, including on-campus learning in the classroom and in labs, remote learning, and learning and apprenticeship opportunities at one of the gambling company’s properties. The courses covered by the program will focus on topics like table game dealing, online and land-based gambling operations, hotel management, and others.
The CCRI will be working towards having the courses available for students in about a year in the fall of 2024, while its workforce collaboration division will be developing shorter programs to help Bally’s upskill its staff.
