Bekier steps down as CEO, after Star Casino accusations

Matt Bekier, CEO of  Star Entertainment Group, has resigned as the Star Casino in Sydney faces potential violations.

The company’s board approved Bekier’s resignation on March 28th and will assist him in transitioning his duties; however, Bekier’s departure date as CEO has not yet been established.

This decision was made in response to ongoing probable violations of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism regulations at its casinos.

Bekier, as he stated, is responsible for the efficiency and appropriateness of the company’s every move, whether it’s policies or culture. Bekier went on to say that the recommended actions to do would have been to take accountability, so he put in his resignation statement as expected.

So far, earlier when the rumors and accusations had just started, Star had dismissed the claims as false and misleading. Despite, examining the suspected wrongdoing at the Star Sydney continues.
