Bet365 is reprimanded by Danish regulators
Bet365 is reprimanded by Danish regulators for breaking the rules.
According to Spillemyndigheden, bet365 broke the diligence of the client. They did not conduct appropriate inspections on young people who invested 190 thousand DKK into their accounts for some time that lasted more than a year.
Due to the law in Danish, operators need to report financial transfers that seem suspicious and Danish Gambling Authority states that bet365 violated the law.
With the age of the players and the amount of money bet365 should have investigated those cases and found out about the funds and income sources of the players, but they didn’t do the required work.
The regulators stated that given the circumstances an examination was a must but since the gaming operator did not take needed measures there was nothing about the players.
DGA made the decision that bet365 do not take their responsibilities seriously.
In this regard, the regulatory body reprimanded bet365, although it stated that this doesn’t lead to an “obligation to act”, since the operator is implementing new business to conduct due diligence of customers and investigation after this recent incident.
