The Derby and Oaks events at the Epsom Downs racecourse will be sponsored by Betfred for the upcoming 3 years.

As part of this partnership, the bookmaker will be sponsoring two other events that will take place throughout the two days of the Epsom Derby race. This collaboration will be adding to Betfred’s longstanding history of supporting various sports teams and championships, especially in the thoroughbred racing space.

The Chairman and Founder of Betfred, Fred Done, commented:

The Jockey Club CEO Nevin Truesdale remarked:

The MD of Racing Venues at the Jockey Club, Amy Starkey, stated:

The Derby, which has a long history dating back to the 18th century, has always had close ties to the betting world, as it enhances the experience of enjoying the sport for lots of fans. Both companies are passionate for the storied heritage of Epsom races, and Betfred will be instrumental in helping us promote them and the sport across its over 1.4 thousand retail wagering shops in the United Kingdom.”

Lastly, the betting operator stated in its announcement, that this sponsorship deal is one of the first in a line of upcoming agreements that are expected to be unveiled in the near future.
