BetMGM expands to the United Kingdom
MGM Resorts has recently announced the expansion of BetMGM to the UK.
This latest announcement is the start of the operator’s international expansion strategy for its online division, which will allow BetMGM to reach wider audiences outside of its operating jurisdictions in North America. The operator’s online operations in the UK will be powered by the interface and backend solutions of LeoVegas, one of MGM Resorts’ subsidiaries.
BetMGM UK is already available to bettors in the country on its official website, betmgm.co.uk, although the operator plans to launch a dedicated mobile application for its newest subsidiary in the near future. Additionally, the firm is planning on a media launch in the near future as well, which is estimated to take place sometime in September.
MGM Resorts’ Chief Executive, Bill Hornbuckle, remarked:
“Having proven itself in the North American iGaming industry, we are eager to expand the presence of BetMGM across the pond. This announcement marks the latest milestone in our international expansion plans, which we have been working towards ever since we acquired LeoVegas last year.”
The firm’s latest subsidiary will be operated fully by itself, unlike BetMGM’s core operations in North America, which are run through a joint venture between MGM and Entain utilizing the latter’s platform and technology solutions.
