Betsson Group reports strong start to 2025 with €293.7M in Q1

Betsson Group started 2025 on a strong note, showing solid growth in Q1 with €293.7 million in revenue, an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Casino revenue claims the crown with €212.3 million, while sportsbook income grew 22% to €79.7 million. Customer numbers also increased. From 1.3 million, the number climbed to 1.4 million year-on-year. Moreover, deposits hit a record €1.588 billion.
Betsson’s net income for Q1 rose to €48.4 million, and operating profit reached €64 million with a healthy margin of 21.8%. According to CEO Pontus Lindwall, Betsson’s growth strategy is based on geographic expansion. The company continues to perform in the Nordics and Greece. Moreover, the LatAm market seems to claim top positions as well.
Lindwall explained.
“Latin America, in particular, continues to be an important growth region where we are continuously strengthening our positions. The region accounted for 25 percent of the Group’s total revenue during the quarter.”
Earlier, Betsson secured a Brazilian license and extended its marketing partnership with Argentine football giants Boca Juniors, opening a new office in Buenos Aires.
Regulatory challenges
Despite regulatory challenges in Swedish and Dutch markets, Betsson remains optimistic.
Lindwall commented:
“The world around us is currently characterised by great uncertainty and concerns about reduced world trade, higher inflation, and a weakening economy,” Lindwall remarked. We are closely monitoring macroeconomic developments, but at the same time, we note that demand for gaming products has historically been relatively unaffected by the general economic cycle.”
Back in February, Betsson Group declared 2024 its strongest year yet. However, Q1 2025 shows the big potential for this year as well.
