Betsson Group to expand in France with new license

Betsson Group has recently acquired a betting license in France.

The acquisition of Betsson Group’s latest license will allow the firm to expand its international presence to provide wagering services to an expanded audience of sports fans. The company will launch its flagship brand, Betsson, which will help the firm make progress in its international expansion strategy and be a further testament to the company’s dedication to delivering leading experiences worldwide.

The company’s launch in the French gambling market will be carried out through a joint venture with a local gambling partner, along with a few additional development partners, who will be supplying their solutions to help Betsson deliver leading experiences to local bettors. This will include Sportradar, which will be powering the firm’s sports wagering experiences in the new market.

Betsson AB’s Chief Executive and President, Pontus Lindwall, remarked:

“We are excited to expand our international presence with our latest license in France, which is a major European market that holds quite a bit of potential for the gambling industry. By utilizing our extensive global operating knowledge and experience, we are certain that we will be able to deliver standout experiences to French bettors.”

The launch is estimated to be finalized later this year in the fourth quarter of 2023.
