Brady vs Buckley UFC bets raise suspicious activity concerns

Sportsbooks flagged suspicious betting activity over the Sean Brady versus Joaquin Buckley UFC 328 fight on May 10 after Buckley became a -205 favorite just hours before the event.

Throughout the whole week leading up to the fight, Buckley had spent it as an underdog with +210 odds, with Brady being the favorite at -250; however, the picture fully changed during the last hours, but the fight was not pulled.

As a result of the abnormal bets, sportsbooks closed prop betting markets for the event and decreased the limits on the main betting line, with the measures taken in cases when operators suspect insider trading or prior knowledge of information about a fighter’s strategy or health condition.

The UFC has not commented on the irregular betting activity concerns, as the fight concluded with Brady winning after a unanimous decision following three rounds.

Sean Brady commented on the issue:

“Somebody at the UFC reached out to me a couple of hours before the fight and just made sure I was fine. I was like, ‘I’m completely fine, there’s nothing wrong with me.’ My wife was upstairs; they already all knew about it, they weren’t telling me because they didn’t want anything to get into my head. But as soon as they called, I told them I’m good, it went one ear out of the other. I could have been a -10000 favorite or a +10000, I wouldn’t know cause I didn’t look. I’m completely fine, and somebody just lost a bunch of money.”

A similar case happened back in January 2026, when Dana White, the UFC CEO, confirmed a fight cancellation for suspicious betting regarding the Johnson versus Hernandez event.
