The State Lottery of Paraíba (LOTEP) conducted an institutional meeting with representatives from TikTok Brazil in an effort to discuss gambling regulations, supervision, and digital advertising policies.
Taking place at the regulatory body’s headquarters in Joāo Pessoa, officials from LOTEP’s departments of technology, communications, and enforcement, as well as licensed operators, participated in the discussions. The meeting focused on how TikTok and regulators can work together to ensure regulatory compliance and the improvement of responsible gambling measures.
Milena Mélo, Communications Advisor and member of the LOTEP Responsible Gaming Commission, stated:
“Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with digital platforms is fundamental for improving communication practices and building an increasingly safe, transparent environment that complies with current regulations. This exchange of information strengthens the responsible actions of all those involved and contributes to the protection of users.”
During the meeting, TikTok representatives shared the security tools, content moderation, and advertising policies that are used to protect digital platforms and reviewed the user protections and legal compliance criteria that are needed to ensure betting operation transparency.
Superintendent of LOTEP, Petrônio Rolim, added:
“Dialogue with operators plays a crucial role in the further development of the industry. We strive for the modernization of licensing processes and constant control of gaming activities throughout the state.”
The meeting was part of LOTEP’s broader strategy of cooperating with digital platforms to supervise the sustainable development of the gambling sector.
