Casino Guru and WinSpirit celebrate SmartPlay campaign
Casino Guru and WinSpirit successfully completed the SmartPlay Social Media campaign, an initiative aimed at promoting responsible gambling.
Casino Guru brought its knowledge of player behavior and responsible gambling, while WinSpirit used its community insights to lead the social media side. Together, the partnership showed how operators and independent organizations can work hand in hand to support player well-being.
The campaign focused on raising awareness of RG tools and helping players make informed choices. Through six interactive social posts, players learned to spot “red flags” and “green flags,” challenge common gambling myths, and remember that gambling is meant to be entertainment, not a way to make money.
At the start, a survey found that 63% of WinSpirit players understood the main goal of Responsible Gambling, but 46% still found the details unclear. The campaign closed that gap, turning RG advice from background guidance into something players actually wanted to engage with.
Šimon Vincze, Head of Sustainable & Safer Gambling at Casino Guru, commented:
“Player protection is an integral part of the gambling industry’s development. Effective communication will resonate positively with players, and proactive initiatives not only reduce harm but also deliver commercial benefits for operators. We hope to see more campaigns like this across the industry.”
The campaign also showed that RG tools work best when tailored, with 56% of players finding WinSpirit’s email reminders useful for safer gambling.
The SmartPlay campaign encouraged players to check their own habits, proving that insight and creativity can make responsible gambling a positive and engaging part of the casino experience.
