Catena Media has announced that it has conducted a new wave of staff layoffs in its technology, marketing, and regional sites departments in an effort to reduce costs.
The affiliate marketing services provider has confirmed the elimination of 5 roles so far as a result of a restructuring measure from the regional sites team that redistributed their responsibilities to other parts of the business.
Former Content Manager at Catena Media and current Senior Content Manager at Better Collective, Andrew Champagne, wrote:
“My heart aches for people affected by this week’s layoffs at Catena Media. Several of them are people I like and respect a great deal, and passionate people with exemplary records losing their livelihoods should be seen as a ‘should not occur’.”
The layoffs come at a time when the company is facing lower revenue and EBITDA after the latest Google update, which significantly affected SEO. At the same time, the over-reliance on the U.S. market and gambling launches in new states have also influenced Catena’s performance.
According to Catena Media, the changes are part of the business’ strategy of focusing on its main products and continuing to streamline operations. Additionally, the affiliate shared that it would offer direct support to affected staff members.
Previously, in the second quarter of 2025, the company revealed that it had let 50 employees go, including senior management roles and the removal of the full management layer.
