Genetski took over from Amy Howe, who left the company following a period of weaker sportsbook performance. He has been at FanDuel for almost 12 years and previously served as chief commercial officer and chief legal officer.
Dan Taylor, CEO of Flutter Entertainment, said:
“Christian has done a fantastic job leading FanDuel on an interim basis. He knows the business inside out, has been part of its growth from the beginning and understands the team and the opportunities ahead.”
Taylor himself took over as group CEO on October 1, succeeding Peter Jackson, after previously running Flutter’s International division. Flutter is due to report third-quarter results on Wednesday, and it is not yet known when the appointment will be formally announced. FanDuel declined to comment.
Genetski takes charge at a difficult time for the business. Flutter shares are down almost 60% so far this year, FanDuel is competing with Kalshi and Polymarket through its own prediction markets product, and the group plans to cut up to 1,400 jobs at its UK and Ireland hubs following tax increases.
