Churchill Downs releases new offerings with Third Time Games

Third Time Games will launch a virtual version of the Kentucky Derby in collaboration with Churchill Downs.

Through this partnership, the developer will be launching a season of events on its Photo Finish Live virtual sports interface. It will last for a month and will feature numerous events at a virtual version of the famous Churchill Downs racecourse, including the prestigious Kentucky Derby.

The new offering will allow players to purchase virtual horses and participate in the various races being held before the final, where they will get the opportunity to be the champion of the virtual Derby.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Photo Finish Live offering, Ian Cummings, stated:

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with the racetrack to utilize our innovative offerings and recreate the Derby in a digital setting. Our services and products are completely transforming the way sports fans enjoy thoroughbred racing, and we hope to attract larger audiences through partnerships like these.”

The VP of Collaborations and Marketing at Churchill Downs racecourse, Casey Ramage, remarked:

“As the Derby has been running for almost one and a half centuries, we are always looking for ways to engage sports fans in new and entertaining ways and to expand the thoroughbred racing audience to keep the storied sport popular for decades to come.”

This collaboration will bring an innovative new product to the market of sports wagering, as its innovative virtual horse-owning mechanic gives players a new way of engaging with the thoroughbred racing sport.
