The regulatory body further shared that its investigation into the full incident was still in process, as the CGA is currently working to understand what information may have been exposed and what consequences could follow. So far, the authority said it has found no signs that its main technical infrastructure was compromised, but it stated that it’s still too early to conclude about the hack’s overall impact.
The CGA shared in a statement:
“Upon detection of the incident, the CGA and its service provider immediately activated their incident response procedures, and its provider commenced a forensic investigation to determine what happened. While the unauthorized access has been contained, the investigation remains ongoing and has not yet established the full scope of the incident. The CGA is currently assessing whether and which information was accessed, as well as the potential consequences arising from such access.”
Additionally, the regulator said it has increased monitoring and security measures as a precaution while the investigation continues. The CGA further stressed that anyone whose information may have been affected, including applicants, licensees, or other stakeholders, would be directly notified according to legal and regulatory requirements.
