DraftKings ends credit card deposits starting August 25
Starting today, August 25, 2025, DraftKings will no longer accept credit card deposits on sportsbook and online casino platforms, keeping the feature available only for daily fantasy sports players.
The company has already notified customers that all saved credit card details will be removed automatically. DraftKings explained that the move is meant to protect players from the high fees and interest rates that often come with using credit cards for gambling. By removing this option, the company says it wants to make depositing easier and safer.
DraftKings released a statement:
“The change is intended to help customers avoid cash advance fees and higher interest rates often associated with this payment method and otherwise improve the deposit experience.”
This is not the first time DraftKings has faced issues around credit cards. Back in July, in Massachusetts, DraftKings was fined $450,000 for credit card betting violations.
Generally, there is an ongoing trend in the U.S. for credit card usage in gambling. More operators are moving away from credit card deposits as part of wider efforts to encourage safer play and reduce gambling-related harm. Moreover, back in April 2025, Illinois banned credit cards for sports betting.
