DraftKings finalizes Vegas Sports Information Network takeover

DraftKings has announced the completion of its takeover of Vegas Sports Information Network (VSiN). The financial details of this acquisition were spared, however the fantasy sports and sports betting operator did mention that this agreement would be providing it with an opportunity to improve its content in all fourteen of the states in which it runs operations.

VSiN is a US-facing content provider based in Las Vegas, who produces and shares roughly 18 hours of sports betting content every single day.

VSiN’s content can be accessed via the 24-hour stream and different audio/video channels including fuboTV, MSG Networks, AT&T Pittsburgh, Comcast Xfinity, Marquee Sports Network and others… VSiN also has many contributors to its content such as Michael Lombardi, who is a previous NFL executive, and Brent Musburger, former ESPN and CBS broadcaster.

Jason Robins, co-founder, chairman and chief executive of DraftKings, said:

“VSiN creates authentic and credible content that resonates with sports bettors at every level, whether they’re experienced or new to sports betting. In addition to its brand equity among sports bettors and engaging talent roster, VSiN also has an established infrastructure that DraftKings can immediately help expand, in the hopes of adding value to consumers who are looking to become more knowledgeable about sports betting.”

Brian Musburger, chief executive of VSiN, also noted:

“We created VSiN as a destination for sports bettors to find the most credible content to help inform their wagering decisions. Harnessing the power and network of the DraftKings brand will allow us to reach an even wider audience with our unique content.”

Musburger and his team will be taking over the daily operations of VSiN, which will be keeping its editorial freedom. DraftKings will be merging the entirety of VSiN’s employees into its international base of 2,600 persons.

Last summer, BetMGM, which is operated by MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings, teamed up with ViSN for the release of a new sports betting programme.
