DraftKings now licensed in Ontario

After Ontario opened the market for sports betting and gaming, DraftKings applied to get licensed which got approval only 6 weeks later.

They were able to open the Ontario market, after more than 3 years of hard work, following the end of the (online gambling monopoly) in 2019

Prior to getting licensed, AGCO registered DraftKings as an operator.

Ontario received many applications, including ones from Entain and SkillOnNet, for offering services via multiple webpages.

The sports betting company was known to be the 37th one to get licensed and also the 12th one to be given a license for 2 years, but ‘the provincial lottery’ can operate only for 1 year.

Though many operators like FanDuel, 888, BetMGM, PointsBet, and many more were licensed before the release day (April 4) DraftKings wasn’t approved.

After reporting their revenue for the first quarter of this, DraftKings’ Chief Executive Officer J. Robins stated that they are going to report in Ontario in Q2 of 2022
