The Dutch gambling regulatory authority (KSA) has started granting renewed 5-year licenses to online casino operators as the October 1, 2026, expiry deadline for the previous permits is approaching.
After a review process conducted by the KSA, multiple major companies have already received their new permits, including Holland Casino, Bingoal, and TOTO Online, while others, like Kansino, bet365, BetCity, and Fair Play, all have until October 1 to submit complete applications and get approval to continue their operations.
Bingoal shared in a statement:
“We are incredibly proud to announce that Bingoal’s Dutch licence has officially been renewed by the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) for another five years. Having been among the first operators to receive a licence in 2021, we are proud to once again be among the first to successfully complete the renewal process.”
CEO of Holland Casino, Petra de Ruiter, also commented:
“We will continue to commit to a safe and responsible online offering, where player protection always comes first. At the same time, it remains essential that the regulated market is attractive enough to keep players away from unregulated providers, where supervision and protection are lacking.”
However, iGaming firms returning to the Dutch market will operate under significantly different rules compared to when the industry first launched in 2021, as the government has since introduced strict restrictions on the usage of role models in gambling ads, banned untargeted advertising, and prohibited gambling companies from sponsoring sports teams.
