Dutch KSA to fine another illegal operator with €840K

KSA will fine BlockDance with €840,000 if it doesn’t stop its illegal operations in the Netherlands.

The KSA, or Kansspelautoriteit, is an independent regulatory body in the Netherlands that oversees and regulates gambling activities within the country. The regulator warned BlockDance that it may face a fine of €840,000 if it doesn’t stop its unlicensed operations in the country.

After the first warning, the operator blocked website access for users from the Netherlands. However, KSA made an investigation and found that BlockDance is still available on two websites, bc.game and bcgame.lu. This means that many users can still sign up and make deposits.

As a result of not following the rules, BlockDance will receive the appropriate actions from the KSA’s side.

KSA said:

“The Netherlands has a regulated gambling market to better protect players. We therefore take tough action against illegal offers. With a penalty payment order, illegal offers are often quickly stopped. Providers can also be fined for the period in which the illegal offer was available.”

BlockDance will receive weekly penalties of €280,000 till the maximum fine amount is hit.

KSA’s regulations

KSA keeps monitoring the gambling market in the Netherlands. Recently, the regulator announced the black market’s dominance after the new law from October 1, 2024, imposing a monthly deposit limit of €700, which is equal to $766. This law was aimed at promoting responsible gaming; however, it motivated gamblers to turn to the black market, which has no strict rules.
